Lord Carter May be Quitting His Post
Lord Carter, the current Communications Minister of the UK, is reportedly planning to leave the ministry and join the private sector. According to an article in The Times, the minister may go to Brussels or may possibly take a job as the head of ITV, as he supposedly already has a job in the private sector lined up for himself.
Lord Carter has been the pioneering head of the Digital Britain report which intends to support and encourage the UK’s communications and technology infrastructure. For information on your ISP, and for provider reviews and news from the likes of AOL broadband and the other top internet service providers it’s a good idea to refer to a dedicated broadband website. The Times said that there are indications that he will leave the government even before the report becomes public. There are apprehensions that his leaving will derail the project, which is already rather controversial and fund-starved.
However, Lord Carter claimed that the report by The Times is not correct as he has no intention of leaving the ministry. He asserted that there is no job waiting for him in the private sector, and his only concern presently is the Digital Britain report. He is helping improve the UK’s broadband infrastructure and intends to continue doing so even after the report is published, he said.
The suspense won’t be long as the future plans of Lord Carter should become clear with the publishing of the Digital Britain report. But if he does choose to leave, he might have to face a barrage of criticism.
